A Modern Interpretation of the Classic Barlow Pattern.
The Wayland is TJB's interpretation of the Barlow design, the epitome of the American "folding knife." Created over three centuries ago in England, the Barlow quickly became Americans' preferred blade, regardless of class or creed. The Barlow's traditional pattern—long bolsters, teardrop-shaped handle, and sheepsfoot blade—make it an ideal EDC tool. A knife so useful that Presidents Washington and Lincoln never left home without theirs, and Mark Twain felt called to mention it in two of his iconic works. If ever a knife belonged to the people, it was the Barlow, and we are happy to release the Wayland as our interpretation.
I’ve been carrying the Wayland for a few months now and can report that it is a premium quality tool. Every aspect of it is perfectly tuned and I’m very happy I decided to splurge a little and get it. It’s an heirloom quality EDC that I highly recommend. Thanks James! You guys really knocked this one out of the park!
Great heirloom pocketknife
I gave one to my son for his fortieth birthday. He likes it, and sees the lifelong value of a beautiful knife. It is pricy, but very nice.
The Wayland has assumed the position of my favorite knife. The quality is obvious. The knife is beautiful, the blade is sharp, the profile is perfect, it fits well in my hand. Also, love that it tucks away perfectly in my pocket rather than clipping to the side of the pocket.
Prompt delivery. Product was exactly as advertised.
Got this for my husband for his birthday, and he loves it. The quality is exceptional. He has many knives, and this is one of his favorites
I bought this as a gift for someone who does a lot for me. He said it is a good quality knife, and was good and sharp.
