The Wayland
The Wayland
A Modern Interpretation of the Classic Barlow Pattern.
The Wayland is TJB's interpretation of the Barlow design, the epitome of the American "folding knife." Created over three centuries ago in England, the Barlow quickly became Americans' preferred blade, regardless of class or creed. The Barlow's traditional pattern—long bolsters, teardrop-shaped handle, and sheepsfoot blade—make it an ideal EDC tool. A knife so useful that Presidents Washington and Lincoln never left home without theirs, and Mark Twain felt called to mention it in two of his iconic works. If ever a knife belonged to the people, it was the Barlow, and we are happy to release the Wayland as our interpretation.
My husband really liked it!!
He was very impressed with the quality of the Wayland. The craftman ship is solid and just the right size.
NIce!
Sleek and smooth. My husband loved it!
Tight!
I thought this looked cool but ended up returning it. It was a little stiff to open and close so not that convenient to use (not something my girlfriend would be able to open, that's how tight it was). Probably would've preferred a clip with it too. I got the Ellis, which is similar but a lot less tight and with a clip
great knife
very unpleased with how the knife came it was just in the box with no plastic around it and it was scratched up im all for knives getting scratched but not fresh out the box im the one that should put that wear on it especially for a $200 knife
The Wayland
I’ve been carrying the Wayland for a few months now and can report that it is a premium quality tool. Every aspect of it is perfectly tuned and I’m very happy I decided to splurge a little and get it. It’s an heirloom quality EDC that I highly recommend. Thanks James! You guys really knocked this one out of the park!
