The Duval
The Duval
The Modern Pocket Knife
The Duval is our first front-flipper, combining the best features of two classic knife silhouettes into a sleek and functional new form. Traditional gentlemen's knives require two hands to open and close, and they don't generally lock. With its front-flipper opening style and it's frame-lock design, you get the best of both worlds: the ease of opening and security of a traditional frame-lock knife, combined with slimness, symmetry and beauty of a classic gentlemen's pocket knife.
LOVE IT
This color!!!! The green makes this a Beautiful knife, very pretty to look at. The blade is excellent. It already feels like it'll last me many years.
Lovely Knife, Fast Delivery, a Little Pricey, a Little Light on Product Care/Info
Love the knife, though it did hurt a little to spend almost $300 on it. Only real feedback I have is that you direct people to your website for information on caring for the knife, however there is no real information there. It just kinda says 'keep it sharp, keep it clean, keep it lubricated' . . . yea i know. And I could (have) spent hours on forums reading everybody and their brother's opinion about how to sharpen cv35 steel, but I still dont feel any closer to understanding what stone I need. I don't even know the bevel angle of the Duval knife as it is not listed on your site, but is apparently critical info when sharpening a knife. There also isn't and information on the service page specific to the Duval, so maybe that needs to be updated.
I think if you put up some James Brand video tutorials on maintenance, sharpening (techniques, products, etc) that'd be a huge help.
Love the knife, just want to make sure it lasts.
Cheers
Exquisite workmanship
I'm on my fourth James Brand knife. This is the perfect professional companion and instantly draws attention when used. Like The Randolph that I purchased at the same time, the grip is perfect, the finish impeccable, the slight wiggle you often expect from even the best knife... non-existent. The mechanism is stiff but it's new so that's expected. Opening (for now) is a two-hand operation but that doesn't bother me in the least. And that blade... Damasteel is absolutely beautiful. Now, I must admit I hesitated when I saw the price, but it's worth it if you enjoy the best.
Duval is awesome
The clean lines, razor sharp blade, high grade steel. All perfect. It is a bit hard to flip open one handed, but will probably break in over time.
