Solid EDC Knife
Awesome knife. Build quality is great. Blade is centered, with no play. The thumb disk makes it easy to flip open. Once it’s open the disk provides a good place to apply pressure with your thumb or index finger while cutting. Really easy to flip open or closed with the axis lock only. I love the wood finish on the G-10 scales, a really nice touch. Looking forward to carrying this for many years!
This is the most expensive EDC knife I have ever bought, and it was the dullest one I have ever seen, out of the box. It took a long time and a bunch of work before it was usable and I certainly expected more.
I bought this knife to replace a lost knife that I carried for years. It's not always easy for me to try something new, but I really like this knife. I'm impressed with the quality and the tolerances. The mechanism is smooth and the lock is very positive. It's easy to brag on this knife and I regularly receive compliments about it
This is my third Carter and the best one yet! LOVE IT!
Long Term Review
I've had my knife now for almost 2 years. Let me tell you, it's as good today as it was the first time it went into my pocket. I use a pocket knife every day at work. Whether it be to turn a screw when a screwdriver isn't handy, to cut open boxes, or to cut holes in sheetrock when I'm too lazy to get my saw. Yes, I've put it through hell. Every component is still tight, and as long as I sharpen it regularly, it remains razor-like. There is some wear on the black VG-10 blade from all of it's abuse, but it still gorgeous, and has held up better than any knife I've ever owned. Now, approaching the two year mark, it's being passed on to my wife. I've just ordered another in black micarta and Damascus. I'll write another review in a couple of years when I come back to order a third for my son.
