The Exponentially Better Integral.

At The James Brand we’re dedicated to making the very best knives and tools and to always pushing the boundaries of what is possible. In that spirit, we are proud to introduce the Barnes. The Barnes is a titanium framelock, and it's our very first integral design. The Barnes is CNC-machined from one solid billet of 6AL4V titanium, which means fewer parts, less maintenance and the ability to do things with the form that you cannot do in standard knife construction. The Barnes is built around a 3.5 inch Bohler M390 stainless steel blade; this is our first knife with M390 which is widely regarded as the singular best blade steel. The blade runs on a stainless steel pivot and ceramic bearings, and the clip is CNC-machined titanium as well. The Barnes comes with our very first coin design, as it's bad luck to give a knife as a gift without exchanging the coin, and comes with a paracord lanyard. It's the finest and most technically advanced knife we've ever made.

The Barnes Knife

I received The James Brand, The Barnes knife and I am overly impressed. I've been searching for the correct integral for several years now and none have been considered more so than The Barnes. My past hesitation to commit on purchasing this knife came mainly from the cost of the knife and the reputation The James Brand has developed. Not the typical atmosphere within the knife community, but inventive to reach a broader base. The James Brand advertising, is different, effective and offers personality with and through it's products- I love it. Collecting and using knives for the majority of my life, I am proud to say The James Brand has successfully become part of my favorite brands of whom I trust and depend on. Thank you for creating solid products with marketing equally as distinctive that drew me in. An addition, thank you for offering the GovX discount. Most companies offer 10%-15% by using this discount. 20% sealed the deal. This knife is worth the cost now that I have it in hand. Thanks again, Ryan, and the rest of The James Brand company

The Barnes

The Barnes is my first integral knife, and I’m very impressed. The fit and finish is outstanding, and the blade came scary sharp. I love the overall design, blade shape etc. m390 completes this premium knife, and is the perfect addition to my collection.

Overall a well balanced knife

As expected being an integral the first few opens were a little stiff, but that's not an issue after a day of use.

The only reason it's not 5 stars is because the screws aren't all the same size, and the T6 was loose enough It came out.

Buttery smooth.

The fit and finish on this knife are soooo good. Action is incredible once you get used to tbe strong detent. My only gripe (which is a small one), is that the blade wasn't as sharp out of the box as some of my Spydies and Benchmades. Granted, they've been doing this a lot longer. Overall, I couldn't be happier with this knife. It is truly a stunner, carry friendly, and just a joy to use!

Maybe the best knife I own.

This knife is practically perfect. I love the green accent in the thumb studs. It’s the perfect amount of color with a monochromic knife. It’s has some heft to it but it actually feels good in the hand. And boy, was I surprised how well the clip worked. The clip slides over my thickest pockets that normally requires two hands with all my other knives trouble. I don’t know how you did it but it makes it so easy to EDC.

Suggestions: 1. Move “M390” on the other side of the blade and down one line so to avoid peeping out when closed. 2. a proper lanyard with a quality bead rather than a coin. 3. A more competitive price point.

Damn, do I love this knife!
