The Exponentially Better Integral.
At The James Brand we’re dedicated to making the very best knives and tools and to always pushing the boundaries of what is possible. In that spirit, we are proud to introduce the Barnes. The Barnes is a titanium framelock, and it's our very first integral design. The Barnes is CNC-machined from one solid billet of 6AL4V titanium, which means fewer parts, less maintenance and the ability to do things with the form that you cannot do in standard knife construction. The Barnes is built around a 3.5 inch Bohler M390 stainless steel blade; this is our first knife with M390 which is widely regarded as the singular best blade steel. The blade runs on a stainless steel pivot and ceramic bearings, and the clip is CNC-machined titanium as well. The Barnes comes with our very first coin design, as it's bad luck to give a knife as a gift without exchanging the coin, and comes with a paracord lanyard. It's the finest and most technically advanced knife we've ever made.
A Ridiculous Integral
Knife fan and enthusiasts/collector here. Always wanted an integral and always loved TJB's designs. As soon as I saw this release I made the purchase and 4 months later I still couldn't be happier with it. Quality is all top notch, the blade... Sweet Baby Jesus its magnificent. The integral design is so bonkers, really has to be felt in the hand. As others have mentioned the opening took a slight readjustment from non-integrals but now is glorious and insanely satisfying. This knife has become a top three EDC knife for me and I can't stop grabbing it from my collection.
You said flick open this knife ?
Addictive knife. Piece of art. Feels like an alien high-tech tool from another world. But it's also so beautifully simple and pure.
I didn't manage to flick it open one handedly at first. It took some time until I found the trick to flick it easy as butter with no effort. It all has to do with the angle your thumb pushes on the thumb stud. Just place your thumb so it pushes on the thumbstud from more beneath it instead of a too lateral angle.
For an even better flicker experience i actually use my thumb on the right thumbstud and my index finger on the left thumbstud (both at the same time). It gives the best knife-flicking experience you'll ever get. Needs a few minutes of practice before it all works like a charm.
This knife is the most impressive knife
This knife was the most impressive, well designed, and beautiful (if you can say that about a knife ). My brother and I are former Marines. He showed me this knife and I noticed that his eyes lit up about the design and quality. I ordered it without his knowledge and I first presented the coin . As he marveled over that, I gave him the knife. We are brothers by birth and brothers by the USMC. Pride is ingrained in our lives and this knife has been designed and built with the same. Thanks
Great product and service.
