With the Carter you get both brawn and beauty.
Featuring a slide-lock mechanism, a corrosion-resistant VG-10 stainless steel blade, fully-profiled G10 or Micarta scales and a deep-carry, reversible pocket clip, the Carter is the most advanced knife we've ever made. It's slim and lightweight, but fully capable in any environment. It's also fully ambidextrous, and the pocket clip can easily be removed and replaced with the included lanyard insert. The thumb disc design means that the Carter is easy to use with one hand, so it's at the ready in all situations. The Carter is going to immediately earn it's spot in your EDC rotation.
Solid. Smooth. Solid.
When I first opened it, I thought the Carter a little on the light side to be durable. Boy, was I wrong. It’s been my EDC now for several weeks and this knife is as solid as they come. Great cutting leverage and fantastic feel. The action is really smooth and consistent too. Overall, very consistent build. If the longevity holds out, will be the best EDC knife I’ve ever owned. This is my first TJB knife—now my favorite knife brand. Looking forward to my next one. Bravo.
The Perfect EDC
We’re all different, but for me, this is the perfect EDC. It’s beautifully made, feels good in the hand, functions extremely well, and the design’s handsome.
I can’t think of a single thing I’d change. I bought a second one for my son as a gift, and it’s now his EDC as well.
My Husband Loved it!
My husband said. "I was very pleased and excited to see it. It is my first James knife, although I have many other brads. The quality of components and the fit of the build looks excellent. I'm proud to own it."
Smooth little knife
The action on this knife was pretty good out of the box but got better with time. Somewhere between 50 and 100 deployments, it got super smooth. No issues with the blade alignment and it has stayed perfectly centered. The handle shape and material is perfect. Although on the smaller side, it’s perfect for a daily carry in an office situation. I knew the size when I ordered it and it was what I wanted. I did remove the clip briefly and then put it back on. Now it it has some play that wasn’t there before. Maybe some locktite on the screw is in order? If James Brand has some suggestions on an easy way to get this to stay tight, it would be appreciated. Overall, it’s a quality knife and earned 5 stars.
Very well made with contracting colors between the handle and blade. Fits very nice in my hand and the blake is sharp with a smooth open and close. Tight at first but more you open and close, it works a lot better. The knife comes in a very nice wood box with a nice pouch and optional lanyard loop. I wish I could combine the two and have an additional screw in the handle, but other than that, super good EDC. Five stars!
