the Hell Gap
the Hell Gap
Sometimes everyday carry means more than what you can put in your pockets.
Introducing the Hell Gap; our first fixed blade knife. Named after the Hell Gap arrowhead found in Platte County, Wyoming, the Hell Gap is a rugged workhorse, like the land of its namesake. Built around an s35vn steel blade and canvas Micarta scales, it’s a cutting polymath; built to be capable of doing work ranging from digging roots in the backyard to dicing onions for your camp breakfast burrito.
Great knife, cheap scabbard!
The knife itself is sublime but the scabbard is a plastic piece of garbage and not up to the usual high standards of the James Brand. At this price point, a better scabbard should be included gratis, so as not to detract from enjoyment of such a great camp knife.

The craftsmanship is perfect
great knife but issue with logo
Great knife with no issues at all with retention while within the sheath , however the logo edges (the inside edges of the small circle) are sharp , to the point it is a bit annoying/abrasive and take kydex chips/powder everytime you pull it out.
I checked before buying in a shop the black version and it did not have this issue.
The knife is amazing, not much retention in sheath
I love the knife so far, but the sheath has minimal retention and no way of adjusting. If you turn it upside down it doesn’t fall out, but if you shake it even just slightly it falls out of the sheath. Not a deal killer but I like to know it won’t fall out on accident in any situation.
Hell Gap is a great solid tough knife
I've become a huge fan of The James Brand. You just know everything they make is going to be well made and solid. The hell Gap is no different. A sexy well made fixed blade knife.
Can't wait to see what projects The James Brand has planned for 2022
